An Apple patent application just published by the US Patent Office shows that the masterminds of Cupertino have figured out (or hope to figure out) a cunning way to work out what words you're going to tap into your little Jesus mobe before you type it.
The US Patent Office has not yet granted the patent, but in accordance with its policy of publishing patents after a certain amount of time has elapsed since their submission (this dates from Dec 2010), it has unveiled the Cupertino application titled: "Combining timing and geometry information for typing correction" . Mayor of West New York arrested for hacking a website calling for his recall

When a political rival sets up a website demanding your recall as mayor, what do you do? Well, if you're Felix Roque, the 55-year-old mayor of West New York, New Jersey, you have your son Joseph hack the recall site and then threaten the creator. That, at least, is what U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman is alleging today following the arrest of both the mayor and his son. Read more...
Microsoft adds 6 months to Office 2007′s support lifespan
Microsoft has extended the mainstream support period for Office 2007 by six months to align the suite's lifecycle with a little-known provision in the company's support policy.
Although it's unclear when Microsoft added the six months to Office 2007's lifetime, at one point the software was to leave mainstream support this week, and be put out to pasture in April 2017, the same month that Windows Vista is to retire.
Office 2007 will now exit mainstream support in October 2012, and fall off the support list for good in October 2017. Read more...
Dutch consumer group unsatisfied with Apple’s updated warranty policy, may sue
About 10 months ago, Apple found itself under scrutiny from Italian “antitrust authority” AGCM over its warranty policy.
Apple was selling products like the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and iPod devices with a one-year warranty, but was actually required under EU law to protect buyers with a minimum of two years protection (this goes for all consumer electronics). Read more...
