LG Optimus G comes to U.S. in November
LG said Tuesday its Optimus G smartphone with a fast quad-core processor and LTE service will go on sale in the U.S. in November.

The phone, which features a 4.7-in. display and 1280 x 768 resolution, wasannounced in late August, but Tuesday some formal launch plans were set, including the start of sales in South Korea next week.
LG has committed to using Android as the mobile operating system for itssmartphones, and will run Android 4.0 in the Optimus G. LG and Qualcomm are also holding an event in New York City on Wednesday where observers expect more details about the Optimus G, possibly pricing and carriers.
LG is fifth in market share among cell phone makers globally, according to IDC, after Samsung, Nokia, Apple and ZTE. LG has struggled with mobile devices and posted losses of $895 million over the last two years combined. Read more...
Samsung, LG to launch Google TVs, joining Sony and Vizio
Google said Thursday that TV heavyweights Samsung and LG will launch sets that run its Google TV platform, with new models to be showcased at the International Consumer Electronics Show next week in Las Vegas.
The U.S. search giant has so far failed to impress the industry with the Internet TV platform it launched in 2010. The interface was seen as too confusing for lay users, and Google suffered setbacks as key supplier Logitech pulled its support after losing over US$100 million, and the major U.S. networks blocked video streaming from their websites.
But with televisions sets now seen as the last frontier for Internet content, after computers, phones and tablets, Google has steadily improved its Android-based platform. LG’s Magic Remote is no Siri, but it does have voice control
We know that Apple is working on a dedicated TV set. Like any of Apple’s upcoming projects we have no proof, but the hints and leaks are too numerous to ignore. But until Tim Cook takes the stage to tell us about the Siri-controlled iTV, we’re left with other manufacturers’ smart TVs. A new remote for one of those TVs, specifically LG’s Magic Remote, gives us a sneak preview of voice-controlled TV.
The Magic Remote, compatible with LG’s Cinema 3D Smart TVs, adds voice transcription to an existing set of unconventional remote control features. The LG Optimus 3D now has something more to boast of. LG Electronics have just announced that the LG Optimus 3D will come incorporated with a 3D browser from Wikitude, the pioneer in Augmented Reality (AR).
The brand new Wikitude 3D browser has been designed in such a way that it enables the user to experience better interaction and engagement with real-time user environments.
